MayaWorks’ relationship with Four Directions has greatly enhanced the economic development work we do with women artisans in the central highlands of Guatemala. While there have been numerous fundraising opportunities channeled through 4D, this is only a part of what 4D has accomplished for MayaWorks. Our visitors to Guatemala have been vastly enriched by the knowledge and sensitivity that Alfonso, Diana and the 4D team impart to our delegations. They are incredibly knowledgeable about Guatemala and the Maya and they deliver this knowledge with great sensitivity and perspective. Our tour participants learn so much and return to the United States charged up to work on behalf of women’s economic development in Guatemala.
